With so many Toon Link plushies out there that were officially licensed by Nintendo, sometimes it's hard to tell which ones are which. They all, for the most part, look identical! (I have had many people ask me why I keep buying the same plushie!) So here's a quick overview of the comparisons of the various Toon Links that are available (not including counterfeit ones!)

- The Small 2007 San-ei Link is the oldest of this collection. It was released in Japan and is very similar to its predecessors from Global Holdings. Major identifiers for this plush are the darker shaded felt-like fabric, jersey-fabric printed sword (double sided) and shield, felt belt and angular felted buckle, vinyl boots, light blue Phantom Hourglass tag, and a small ribbon tush-tag with lime green Japanese print.
- The Small (2007) and Large (2012) Global Holdings Links are North American remakes of the 2007 San-ei Link. They are identical, except for size obviously, and in many ways are identical to the San-ei edition. The only differences are their slightly light colors, the tan Phantom Hourglass tags, and the white ribbon tush-tags with English/Spanish/French black print.
- The Small and Large San-ei 2013 Wind Waker HD editions were originally released in Japan along side Toon Princess Zelda and Tingle plushies, which were the same size as the smaller Link plush. These plushies are noticeably lighter in color and have velvety clothing. Their boots are made in similar fabric, rather than vinyl. The shields are still printed on jersey-like material but are darker in color. They also feature the Hero's Shield from Wind Waker, rather than the Wooden Shield from Phantom Hourlgass (since each plush is representative of the differing games.) The swords are now double-sided printed on stiffened felt. The belt buckle now features a rounded design rather than an angular one. They both have bright blue Wind Waker HD tags and small white ribbon tush-tags with lime green Japanese print.
- The 2014 Jakks Pacific World of Nintendo plush was released alongside Mario, Yoshi, Red Pikmin, and Yellow Pikmin plushies in the US. It is by far the most vividly colored Toon Link plush available, the fabric of which almost has a neon tone to it. It too also features the Hero's Shield from Wind Waker, rather than the Wooden Shield from Phantom Hourlgass. Other differences include: polyester boots, a return to the felt-like clothing, an embroidered swirl in the belt buckle, a single-sided printed sword and shield on a fabric covered vinyl, a green World of Nintendo tag, and two white ribbon tush tags with English/French black print.
